Renewable Energies and Energy Systems is part of the Energy and Environmental Technology undergraduate programme. When you register, you choose the study field, but you can still change this up to the end of the third semester or you can combine modules individually.
What are renewable energies and energy systems?
Renewable energies primarily include solar energy, wind energy and hydropower. We understand the term “energy systems” in many different ways. A building, a district heating system, a biomass furnace, a heat storage system or an electric motor are all examples of energy systems. They always involve the conversion or storage of energy, both with and without material flows. Energy systems must be controlled or regulated.
In order to be able to analyze or design such systems, we teach you the necessary basics of electrical engineering, thermodynamics and fluid dynamics as well as measurement, control and regulation technology.
