Curriculum Vitae
Prof. Christian Lampert was educated by the horn professors Francesco Raselli (Basel), Mahir Cakar (Stuttgart) and Erich Penzel (Cologne). He received various awards, among them the prizes in the International Music Competition in Markneukirchen, as well as the German National Music Competition in Bonn.
Christian Lampert was appointed as principal horn player first in the Opera Orchestra Frankfurt (1989–1996), later on he held the same position in the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra (1996–2005). He also held the position of principal horn in the Richard Wagner Festival Orchestra in Bayreuth (1996–2008).
Meanwhile, next to his soloistic career, he has a special focus on chamber music, he performs regularly ie. with German Hornsound, German Brass, HR-Brass, City Brass Stuttgart, Consortium Classicum, Avalon Woodwind Quintet.
After having successfully led two classes for horn at the Basel Academy of Music as well as at the Stuttgart Academy of Music (Germany) from the year 2004 to 2022, he changed from Stuttgart to Bern (Switzerland) and is now holding professorships at the Basel Academy of Music as well as at the Academy of Arts Bern.
2018 Christian Lampert was appointed as President of the International Music Competition in Markneukirchen.
