Prof. Dr. Bettina Schneider ist seit 2016 am Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik tätig und engagiert sich in der Forschung sowie Aus- und Weiterbildung.
Bettina Schneider ist diplomierte Wirtschaftsinformatikerin sowie Wirtschaftspädagogin. Ihre wissenschaftliche Karriere startete sie 2012 mit einer Promotion an der Universität Koblenz-Landau zum Thema ‘Betriebliche Informationssysteme als Forschungsfeld ökonomischer Bildung’.
Bettina Schneider war vor ihrer wissenschaftlichen Karriere in einem multinationalen Pharmakonzern in verschiedenen Leitungsfunktionen und mehreren Ländern (Schweiz, Deutschland, Australien) tätig. Ihre Arbeitsgebiete umfassten das ganzheitliche Design und die Umsetzung regionaler sowie globaler SAP Projekte, inklusive der Aspekte des Stammdaten-, Datenschutz- sowie Zugriffsmanagement. Sie leitete verschiedene internationale Projektteams und war für zahlreiche Analytics, Reporting & Data Mining Initiativen verantwortlich.
In den letzten Jahren hat Bettina Schneider ihren Fokus auf die Themenbereiche IT-Sicherheit, Datenschutz und Blockchain gelegt. Aktuelle Forschungsthemen sind «Cybersicherheit für KMU», «Data Privacy und Privacy-by-Design», «Blockchain Education», sowie «Cybersecurity Gamification». Bettina Schneider ist Initiatorin der Trinational Cybersecurity Day und ist Co-Koordinatorin des H2020 EU Projekts namens GEIGER. Seit 2017 ist sie Mitglied der SATW Expert Group Industry 4.0 und im Jahr 2021 war sie Teil des EU Blockchain Observatory Forums 2.0.
