Tuition fees and scholarships
Students are advised to draw up a budget for the duration of the study period before commencing their studies. If they are unable to cover all of the costs they may apply for a scholarship.

* Fees of CHF 700 are payable by those students whose parents or guardians are in Switzerland, Liechtenstein or the EU; who are citizens of Switzerland, Liechtenstein or the EU; who for the previous two years were financially independent due to being employed in Switzerland, Liechtenstein or the EU and who did not undertake any higher or further education in this time.
Scholarships
In Switzerland, the granting of scholarships is regulated on a cantonal basis. The Canton of your place of residence decides on scholarships or interest-free loans. Private scholarships are also available in addition to the public scholarships. The Basel scholarship directory issued by the Office for Educational Grants in Basel-City lists various sources of funds available for education and further education. This includes the Albert von Rotz Foundation which grants scholarships to students at the School of Life Sciences FHNW.
Furthermore the Swiss Study Foundation offers the students and postgraduates learning opportunities complementary to their studies, an individual mentoring and guidance scheme as well as financial support. More information.
