New products for the company Blickfeld

Students from the Master Studio Industrial Design at the Institute Contemporary Design Practice (ICDP) collaborated with the social enterprise Blickfeld to develop concepts and products to expand the company's portfolio.

A two-day intensive workshop offered students of the Master Studio Industrial Design at the Institute Contempoary Design Practices (ICDP) the opportunity to work on new ideas and concepts in direct contact with the Blickfeld company.

The Blickfeld Association for the Blind employs and cares for blind and visually impaired people in Horw, Lucerne, and offers jobs for 240 employees, 70 of whom are sheltered jobs.

Stephan Herger and Helen Grüninger developed the product SENTHIK, which takes the form of a wooden bow and serves as the centerpiece of a unique wellness and relaxation ritual in aromatherapy, incorporating the use of essential oils.

Another concept developed by Sina Fathollahi and Kosar Kazemi focuses on offering healthcare products and post-care items on a subscription basis. In this concept, Blickfeld's expert team, with their knowledge in supporting individuals with visual impairments, acts as a bridge between manufacturing companies and end-users.

Kosar Kazemi's and Sina Fathollahi's three-dimensional puzzle "Pufeel" is designed for customers with and without visual impairments. Intended for use in kindergartens, the puzzle promotes inclusive play through a unique tactile experience.

Jiho Kim and Victoria Juretko explored new manufacturing and material possibilities. The crocheted wearable ashtray PUFF, for example, offers festival-goers a sustainable "on-the-go" solution.

Luma Weinhardt and Paulina Böhme developed a modular and expandable plant system in various sizes. LUMA GROWS, consisting of three parts, allows for customizable green spaces to suit individual needs. The product can even be personalized with the buyer's own name.
