Optics Lab FHNW

The Optics Lab of the physics department offers a modern infrastructure for measurements in the field of optics and photonics.

Our offer

The infrastructure of the optics laboratory supports the following activities in the fields of optics and photonics. Essentially these are

  • Optical measurements and beam shaping using active and passive components from free-beam optics (lasers, LEDS, lenses, mirrors, polarizers, optical gratings and prisms,...) and fibre optic technology
  • Characterization, in pulsed as well as continuous wave operation of light sources and laser diodes (power range < 1 mW up to several hundred watts)
  • Absorption, reflection and transmission measurements
