Forschungsseminar: Vortrag von Prof. Dr. Tanja Stadler
How genomics and statistics inform public health policy, Prof. Dr. Tanja Stadler, Full Professor at the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering, Deputy head of Dep. of Biosystems Science and Eng., ETH, Zürich
Pathogen genomic sequencing data contains a fingerprint of past evolutionary and epidemiological processes. Prof. Dr. Tanja Stadler will outline their advances in developing computational and statistical methods to extract this fingerprint. Using their own sequencing data combined with globally shared data, she will discuss insights she obtained about pathogen spread. Moreover, she will highlight how obtained insights did and can inform policy making. Finally, she will comment on the current challenges in global pathogen sequencing data sharing, and how they envision their new pathoplexus.org sharing platform will facilitate overcoming some of the core challenges.
