New Lecturer for Historical Trombone beginning September 2018: Catherine Motuz

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Catherine Motuz has been appointed as successor to Charles Toet and will take up the position of lecturer in historical trombone at the Schola Canto-rum Basiliensis FHNW beginning in the 2018/2019 autumn semester.

Ms. Motuz studied at McGill University (Montreal) and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Her interests range from early Renaissance music to historical trombones of the nineteenth century. She is active as a scholar, researching issues of music theory and practice of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. She pursues a broad concert career, performing with various baroque orchestras and chamber music groups, including her own ensemble, La Rose des Vents (Montreal). She has taught at the Université de Montréal, McGill University, and currently teaches at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague.
