Setup FHNW access

The following section is of relevance to students and employees using their private device at the FHNW.

Private products and services should not be registered using a personal FHNW email address, as it will not be available to you after you leave.

Corporate IT’s quick start page on Inside FHNW (the FHNW’s intranet) takes you through the steps you need to take:

1. Set up MFA (multi-factor authentication)
2. Change your password
3. Log into Outlook with your account (to access your email)
4. Install VPN (for access to FHNW resources from outside the FHNW)
5. Connect to the data storage
6. Install a printer if you have one

Please work through these steps before you start your studies or employment. The following section is of relevance to employees wishing to set up an FHNW device.

Connect your device to your FHNW workplace using a network cable or docking station and log in using the login data you received (does not apply to devices that are not pre-installed as per the Corporate IT service catalogue).
