For students with international credentials
If you do not hold the relevant Swiss credentials, you will need to take the ITB-Business (English) exam.
ITB Test
The FHNW's admission policy for students with international university entrance qualifications (school-leaving certificate) follows the best practice recommendations of swissuniversities. If equivalence with swissuniversities best practices cannot be established, prospective students can take an entrance exam, which is subject to a fee.
The entrance test is conducted by the ITB (Institute for Test and Talent Research). It is an online test and does not require on-site attendance. Please contact our Admissions Office in advance to ensure that the entrance exam in combination with your university entrance qualification will allow you to be admitted to the desired degree program.

Length 2 hours, approx. 60 tasks
Test components
- Quantitative problems: quantitative and math skills
- Figural problems: reasoning and cognitive skills
- Text analysis: text comprehension
- Graphs and tables: data comprehension and interpretation
