Born in Vienna, Germán Echeverri comes from a family of Colombian musicians and grew up in Spain. After studying with Raquel Castro and Pablo Valetti at the ESMuC (Barcelona), he completed a master's degree in baroque violin at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with David Plantier and Amandine Beyer, graduating with honours in May 2012.
In 2011, Germán Echeverri founded the ensemble Der Musikalische Garten with violinist Karoline Echeverri Klemm. The ensemble won several international competitions in 2013 and has since recorded several CDs.
Germán Echeverri works as concertmaster in several ensembles such as Musica Fiorita, Freitagsakademie Bern, La Cetra Basel and others and plays in various orchestras and ensembles such as the Freiburger Barockorchester, Gli Incogniti and Les Passions de l'Âme.
Germán Echeverri has performed as a soloist in Switzerland, Germany, South Korea, South America and Spain and has given masterclasses in Switzerland, Ukraine and Colombia.
He currently teaches didactics for baroque violin at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (starting in the autumn semester 24-25).
