Lecturer
Pieter Perrett lectures in communication, leadership and project management at the School of Business at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. Pieter was born in Winchester, England and graduated in 1979 with an honours degree in civil engineering. He also gained a Masters in Education at the University of Manchester.
After becoming a chartered engineer in 1983, he gained extensive professional experience in leadership of projects as well as international project management in both the UK, Vietnam and Switzerland.
From 1987 to 2001 he worked for a leading Swiss consultancy as Project Manager.
Pieter joined the University of Applied Sciences in 1999 and besides lecturing, has led a key international project for the Swiss Federal Department of Economics. His current research projects include the International knowledge transfer study for the European Commission.
Prof. Perrett is active in lecturing and consultancy in Vietnam, China and India.
He is the project supervisor of the university's renowned Focus India business project.
Prof. Pieter Perrett lectures in leadership, communication and project management at the School of Business of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, where he has been engaged as a full-time lecturer since 1999. In addition, he is a visiting lecturer at a key university in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and in Qingdao, China.
He is currently involved in a key EU research project for the EU Commission. The project team from the FHNW was appointed to monitor Intellectual Property protection and knowledge transfer activities in European universities and other public research organisations within the European Union.
In 2009 Perrett led an FHNW research project for the Swiss Federal Department of Economics, which investigated the initial effects of the abolition of the fixed price agreement on books in Switzerland.
