Basler Beiträge zur Historischen Musikpraxis – BBHM

As a teaching and research institute, the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis FHNW cultivates scholarly research in all areas of historical music practice. This research has been documented in a publication series since 1977 (Basler Jahrbuch für Historische Musikpraxis). Since 2019, the series has continued under the title Basler Beiträge zur Historischen Musikpraxis. Each volume presents thematic foci of the annual symposia of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, occasionally supplemented by free contributions.

Basler Jahrbuch für Historische Musikpraxis – BJbHM

As a teaching and research institute, the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis FHNW cultivates the scholarly examination of all areas of historical music practice. Results of this engagement appeared from 1977 to 2018 in the series "Basler Jahrbuch für Historische Musikpraxis". Each volume presents a theme related to the annual symposia of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. All contributions are freely accessible via E-Periodica.

This series will continue under a new title beginning in 2019. See «Basler Beiträge zur Historischen Musikpraxis».

Schola Cantorum Basiliensis Scripta – SCBS

Since its foundation in 1933, the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis FHNW has been engaged as a teaching and research institute in the study of historical musical practice. The series "Schola Cantorum Basiliensis Scripta" presents current topics and research results primarily in monographic form, with a broad spectrum of questions and modes of presentation. The publications are intended to reach not only specialists, but also students as well as interested persons outside the narrower subject boundaries, and thus to stimulate a deeper engagement with the diversity of early music.

Open Access-Publikationen

Here you will find open access publications - texts, audio or video files - that have resulted from the research projects of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. The research portal also provides access to selected texts from the broad context of our research activities: Free papers, master's theses, materials and documentation from events, etc.

CDs

At the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (SCB), researchers and musicians work closely together. Their practice-oriented collaborations create a dynamic interplay between research, education, concerts and publications. The decisive factor is the way of approaching music, understanding it in its historical context and interpreting it in relation to the present, combined with a curiosity for the previously undiscovered. The CD productions contribute to making essential projects or members of the SCB known to a larger audience. Since 1980, the SCB has produced over 75 recordings, on various labels. Since 2010 our CD productions are published by the label GLOSSA.
