This page shows the raw data, together with the bar graphs used in the analysis described in the tab “bore comparisons”. The aim of this study is to find bore resemblances between the two fagottini FT40 and FT44 and a selection of three other fagottini: FT13; FT20; FT29. The results of the correlational analysis are displayed in a bar graph depicting measured points of each of the five fagottini displayed next to each other, making comparisons possible. The bar graphic allows a visualisation of the similarities and differences at each of the measurement points. Furthermore, bore diameter profiles of wing joints and small bore butt joints are displayed in linear charts.
The graphs in this section show several key points of the instruments in order to have an overview. A comparison of the total internal bore lengths of each piece of the fagottini (wing joint, two butt joint bores, long joint, bell, and the total internal length) is given. Furthermore, several key points were taken in consideration to compare the bore diameters a specific points. Two graphs have been created showing the maximum and minimum diameters measured at those key points.
The graphs in this section show a comparison of the diameters of the inner bore at the designated points. There is one graph for each of the bassoon joints (wing joint, two butt joint bores, long joint, bell).
These graphs compare the profiles of bores of the wing joints (excluding bocal well) and small butt bores (excluding socket).
The graphs in this section show a comparison of the internal and external bore lengths of each joint (wing joint, both butt joint bores, long joint, bell and the total internal length).
This section focuses on several measurements taken to determine a description of the tone holes.
Conclusions of this study can be found at the “Bore comparison” tab.
