Louis Hellequin

Louis Hellequin joined the BPT laboratory as a PhD candidate in October 2023, after working for 3 years in a biotech company focused on the discovery of bispecific antibodies against cancer targets among others. Previously, he studied in Lyon and Geneva, obtaining a MSc in Biochemistry and completing his master thesis in the lab of Professor Elisa Laurenti in Cambridge, working on the characterization of a complex subpopulation of haematopoietic stem cells.

His PhD project focuses on advancing Continuous Biomanufacturing techniques, specifically perfusion cell culture using high performance TFF cell retention devices and improved experimental set-ups designed previously in the laboratory. Another aspect of his thesis is the development of a novel spectroscopic toolbox (Raman, IR) and other process analytical technologies (PAT) to enhance process control of mammalian cell culture and establish a rational basis for parametric release.
