Promoting female academic entrepreneurs at Swiss universities and research institutions (alphabetical order)

CONNECT – Connecting Women’s Careers in Academia and Industry
CONNECT encourages women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to plan and develop their career. It aims to inspire all involved people to bridge the gap between academia, industry and public sector.

Female Founders
The Female Founders Initiative by STARTUP CAMPUS, ZHAW and Impact Hub Zurich aims to inspire, inform and support women to become founders and entrepreneurs. The Female Founders map provides transparency in the sector and portrays great female role models in the startup ecosystem.

feminno – female innovation and career development in Life Sciences
feminno offers all female scientists (from life sciences, natural sciences, medicine, health and tech) the opportunity to bridge research from an academic perspective with innovation, entrepreneurship and industry. The program is supported by University of Zurich and ETH Zurich, and industry partners.

FEMtrepreneurs
This grass-roots initiative by the University of Basel has the main goal of creating a supporting community centered around supporting female entrepreneurs in their innovative endeavors and enabling their development in founding their businesses.

Fix the Leaky Pipeline
Fix the Leaky Pipeline is a career-building program that gives young women scientists the opportunity to get mentoring by an entrepreneur and to develop a strategy for finding the career path that fits them best.

Innosuisse Start-up Training
The Innosuisse start-up training programme helps you develop your business idea, set up your company and implement a strategy for growth. Our four training modules are led by experienced entrepreneurs and held all over Switzerland.

Isabelle Musy Award
Since 2014, the Isabelle Musy Award is given out every two years to outstanding female entrepreneurs from the French- and Italian-speaking parts of Switzerland, and comes with CHF 50,000 in prize money.

PROWD (PROfessional Women with Doctorates)
The PROWD programme by the University of Lausanne addresses female postdocs’ diverse needs and professional prospects through their academic or non-academic careers, while offering them opportunities for sharing experiences and concerns at joint events.

Startup@HSG – Female Founder Program
Startup@HSG created The Female Founder Program, a series of events, initiatives, and an accelerator program to inspire, enlighten, and boost Female entrepreneurship at the HSG.

Toolkit: Women & Diversity in Innovation
Diversity is an innovation driver – if the conditions are right! The Toolkit: Women & Diversity in Innovation supports SMEs and large organizations in adopting and fostering diversity in innovation.
