Loans and fees
Reserving media for pickup or ordering them from a different library can be done through the discovery platform swisscovery. Book loans are free of charge. The SLSP Courier, which delivers books from other libraries, is priced at CHF 8.- per document. The costs for delivery to FHNW libraries are covered for all FHNW members (staff and students). As a teacher in the Canton of Aargau, you can also benefit from a free SLSP courier. Use the following form to register: https://edoc.tools.fhnw.ch/
As soon as ordered items are ready for collection, you will receive an e-mail inviting you to collect them. The loan period for an item depends on the type of item and can be viewed in your account. In most cases it is either 28 or 14 days. The loan period is automatically renewed if no one else has reserved the item. A maximum of five renewals are possible.
After the loan period has expired, you will receive a free reminder by e-mail. Items can be returned to the holding library or the collection library. Alternatively, borrowed media can be returned by post to the holding library. If items are not returned on time, fines will apply.
If you have lost or damaged a borrowed document, please contact the library where you borrowed the document immediately. The owning library will inform you about the next steps.
