Jacqueline Loekito
Leiterin MA Studio Fashion Design
Jacqueline Loekito was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia until she moved to London at the age of 19. She studied Fashion and Textiles at Kingston College and received The Textile Milliband award in 2008. After completing her BA (Hons) Fashion Design from the University for the Creative Arts UK in 2011, she was selected to show her collection at Graduate Fashion Week in London.
She started her career as a guest teaching assistant at UCA while working as a stylist in London. In 2012, she was chosen to be one of 12 designers for Rihanna’s show “Styled to Rock UK” which aired on Sky Living. After that experience, she started styling pop stars and designing which led to her launching her own brand. She has been active ever since. The brand focuses on breaking the norm of what gender binary should wear and promotes freedom of thinking, speech and dressing for the wearer. Pink is the red thread on each collection, as Jacqueline Loekito wanted to popularise this colour for all gender identities.
In 2015, Jacqueline moved to Basel and started working at the Institute of Fashion Design HGK Basel FHNW. Whilst working at the Institute, she completed her Master Studio Fashion Design degree course in 2018. She has taught the BA and MA students since 2019 and has now been appointed to lead the Master Studio Fashion Design as of September, 2022.
