Oliver Germershaus is a professor for pharmaceutical technology of macromolecular drugs at the University of Applied Arts and Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) since 2014. His research focusses on development of drug delivery systems for large molecules (peptides, proteins, and nucleic acids), formulation and process development for biologic drugs and the investigation of drug/excipient and drug/packaging interactions.
Prior to joining FHNW, Oliver Germershaus was an assistant professor for pharmaceutics and biopharmacy at the University of Wuerzburg, Germany from 2011 until 2014 and held scientist positions of increasing responsibility at the Department for Pharmaceutical Research and Development at Novartis Pharma, Basel, Switzerland from 2007 until 2011.
Oliver Germershaus graduated from University of Marburg, Germany in 2002 and is licensed as a pharmacist in Germany. He obtained a Master degree in pharmacy (Diplompharmazeut) from the University of Halle-Wittenberg, Germany in 2003 and performed his PhD studies in the group of Prof. Thomas Kissel at the University of Marburg, Germany from 2004 until 2007.
