I moved to Switzerland in 2000 where I continued my ELT career. Having realised there was still so much
to learn, I decided to pursue a BA (Hons) and then a MEd in ELT from the University of Manchester. I have
taught in many different contexts (primary, secondary, tertiary and private sectors) and courses including
GE, BE, ESP, YL and the whole suite of Cambridge Exams prior to becoming a teacher trainer and educator at the FHNW.
My ELT professional and personal interests lie in effective and affective ELT approaches. Particularly, I am
interested in methodologies and approaches that embrace a more creative approach to language teaching and learning.
I am also co-ordinator for ETAS’ (English Teacher's Association Switzerland)Swiss Cantonal Teacher & Teacher Educator SIG. The aim is to create a thriving, inspirational community which unites teachers and teacher educators in the cantons of Switzerland.
As a presenter I regularly give workshops, talks and seminars both at national and international events, presenting regularly at IATEFL.
