Prof. Dr. Petra Maria Asprion ist seit 2016 am Institut für Wirtschaftsinformatik tätig und engagiert sich in der Forschung sowie Aus- und Weiterbildung.
Petra Maria Asprion ist diplomierte Informatikerin, Wirtschaftswissenschaftlerin sowie Wirtschaftspädagogin. Ihre wissenschaftliche Karriere startete sie 2008 mit einer Promotion an der Universität Bern zum Thema Funktionstrennung - Automatisierung von internen Kontrollen unter der Betreuung von Prof. Dr. Dr.h.c. Gerhard Knolmayer.
Bevor Petra Maria Asprion ihre zweite wissenschaftliche Karriere startete, war sie in multinationalen Konzernen, zuletzt bei einem der Big4 in verschiedenen Leitungsfunktionen tätig. Ihre Arbeitsgebiete umfassten Design und Umsetzung von Netzwerktechnologien, Verschlüsselungstechniken, sowie Zugriffsmanagement. Sie leitete verschiedene SAP-Kompetenz-Center und war für zahlreiche internationale Implementierungsprojekte verantwortlich. Seit mehr als 15 Jahren beschäftigt sich Petra Maria Asprion vorwiegend mit der Gestaltung, Implementierung und Überwachung von IT-Compliance, IT-Risikomanagement und IT-Governance (GRC), sowie den damit verknüpften Anforderungen im Kontext von IT-Audit und -Assurance. Seit 2012 verantwortet sie erfolgreich die «Academics Relationships» des ISACA Chapter Schweiz.
In den letzten Jahren hat sie sich insbesondere auf die Themenbereiche IT-Sicherheit, Cyber-Sicherheit und -Resilience konzentriert. Aktuelle Forschungsthemen sind «Sicherheitsaspekte von kritischen Infrastrukturen», «Digitale Services – Sicherheit und Datensouveränität», «Lernlabor Cybersicherheit», «Ethical Hacking – Was wirkt», sowie «Blockchain», «Cyber-Physical Applications» und «Smart Contracts».
