We work with our partners from industry and public administrations to generate new knowledge. Our research addresses market needs and is always applied to practice in its focus and goals. Our portfolio of continuing education products is state of the art. A solid basis is provided, current developments are factored in, and foreseeable trends are taken into consideration. This is carried out in a variety of formats: from conferences and one-day seminars, to certificate courses (CAS) and master’s programmes (MAS). In this way continuing education creates value.

Financial reporting is the centrepiece of companies and the basis for economic decisions. We have been teaching, researching and consulting for years in these areas. In company valuation, these issues are condensed. We develop valuation models supported by theory that set standards for practice. Contact: Tobias Hüttche, dG9iaWFzLmh1ZXR0Y2hlQGZobncuY2g=
It’s all change, also in the finance industry. Digitalisation, big data, etc. are having a radical impact on the banking services of the future. The banking secrecy case and increasing regulatory requirements are also contributing to structural change in the Swiss financial centre. We teach and advise in the field of banking and finance, with a particular focus on risk management, and conduct both theoretical and empirical research on current questions from the banking and finance field.
The FHNW School of Business makes you ready the future and offers you a unique comprehensive continuing education program in sustainable finance in cooperation with Basler Kantonalbank, customized in-house training and support for research and practical projects. “Sustainable Finance Talks” are held monthly in a hybrid format to promote knowledge exchange and networking in the region.

In collaboration with BAK-Basel we conducted a major empirical study, investigating the experiences of Swiss businesses with leasing. It was shown how the Swiss economy would benefit from the positive effects of an increase in the leasing rate.
