Profile
Carmen Zahn studied psychology and media science at the University of Tübingen (Germany) and the University of Missouri, Columbia (USA). In 2004 she earned her PhD from the University of Tübingen (dissertation topic: Knowldege communication with hypervideos) as part of a doctoral scholarship from the German Research Foundation (DFG). In 2010 she completed her post-doctoral qualification (habilitation thesis: Knowledge communication in the 21st century) at the University of Tübingen, Germany.
From 2002 until 2011 Prof. Zahn worked as scientist at the Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (Leibniz-Institute for Knowledge Media - IWM) in Tübingen where she researched the role which digital media play for learning (classroom learning with online video tools, developing the professional media skills of teachers). In 2011 she worked as visiting scholar at the Stanford Graduate School of Education/H-Star Institute (Human Sciences and Technology's Advanced Research Institute) withProf. Roy Pea.
At the FHNW School of Applied Psychology, Carmen Zahn leads the research into “digital transformation, learn-ing and knowledge” at the Institute for Cooperation Re-search and Development. Her applied topics include digital competence development in organizations.
