At the FHNW School of Business in Olten/Switzerland, Prof Dr Marc K Peter is building and leading the Competence Centre for Digital Transformation.
The centre is providing research, education and consulting services – partnering with commercial and governmental organisations – to explore digital growth opportunities, support strategic initiatives and implement effective projects.
In addition to Prof Peter’s activities as lecturer and programme manager, Prof Dr Marc K Peter is also leading the research project «Digital Transformation for SME».
Before joining FHNW, Prof Dr Peter held management positions in various SMEs as well as large enterprises, including Swiss bank PostFinance, eBay International, E*TRADE and LexisNexis in the areas of strategy, technology, sales and marketing in Europe and in Asia-Pacific. In his role as GM and COO of LexisNexis Pacific, Prof Dr Peter implemented a holistic digital transformation with 380 employees over a period of six years. He developed and launched various new digital business opportunities and improved organisational processes which led to sustainable growth.
Prof Dr Peter has a Doctorate from CSU Sydney, an Executive MBA from UAS Bern/Babson College/PKU Beijing and a Master of Marketing from the University of Basel. He studied Corporate Finance at UC Berkeley and Electronic Business Engineering at UAS Bern. In addition, he completed various executive programmes at Columbia University, Harvard Business School, MIT and Stanford University. He is a Fellow of the British Computer Society and the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Prof Dr Marc K Peter is a Visiting Professor and Guest Lecturer at various universities, including the Berne University of Applied Sciences (BFH), Charles Sturt University, University of Basel and University of St. Gallen. He is a member of the Academic or Strategic Board of various organisations, including ACDB, Davos Digital Forum, ICMarkTech, KMU Next, Smart Regio Basel, Swiss Cyber Security Days and Transformation Day.
