Your competence centre in questions related to non-profit and public management.
Organisations in the non-profit and public sector are supporting pillars of our society. These organisations and their leaders and specialists have faced great and, to some extent, profound challenges for many years and the pressure to develop and change will not let up in the years to come. Employees of the NPPM guide and support decision-makers and specialists from practice through continuing education, consulting and research projects for NPOs and public administration departments. It is our aim to combine theory and practice to develop, implement and evaluate future-oriented, sustainable and innovative concepts and solutions.
Core Competencies
The challenges faced by municipalities are continually increasing. New approaches are therefore required to find solutions: Government 4.0, working with others, public-private partnerships and impact focus are all subjects we are working on.
Which conditions and competencies influence the innovative capacity and competitiveness of international, national and local organisations? How can Switzerland and enterprises in Switzerland maintain their current high level of competitiveness in future and continue to develop it? These are central questions addressed by the HSW and the NPPM, which they discuss with partners from practice and investigate in depth.
Volunteerism, honorary positions and part-time political activity each represent a supporting pillar of Swiss society. How can tasks, organisational structures and incentives be designed to ensure lasting commitment to them? We address these and similar questions in our research, continuing education and consulting.
How can our day-to-day impact and performance objectives, and those of our employees, be effectively, efficiently and transparently controlled in a way that is easily understood? What foundation needs to be laid so that we can communicate this clearly to our superiors and auditors? Measurability is the key word, and the approach can be summarised as performance measurement and controlling. This can be particularly complex in the non-profit sector. We make a contribution to the field in undergraduate and continuing education as well as in consulting.
The scope and complexity of legal issues are on the increase, not only in businesses but also in public administrations, NGOs and NPOs. Responsible behaviour that conforms to current norms is now being taken for granted. Our core competencies include undergraduate and continuing education geared to practice and individually tailored legal advice.
